Time Line Therapy

​Time Line Therapy (TLT) is a therapeutic process developed by Dr. Tad James, This type of therapy is a technique used for dealing with and releasing past negative emotions or limiting decisions. It is a very intuitive process that really allows the unconscious mind to deal with the following negative emotions:

​

  1. Anger

  2. Sadness

  3. Fear

  4. Hurt

  5. Guilt

  6. Shame

  7. Any other  negative emotions

 

 

Time Line Therapy works on the principle of a Gestalt. A Gestalt is a sequence of significant emotional events that are all linked together. We all have Gestalts for all our emotions i.e. anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt and others.

Time Line Therapy allows us to track back to that very first emotional event that lead to the Gestalt being formed. This will get the whole Gestalt to fall  apart and the entire chain of emotional events are dealt with in one go. 

 

For example, if you were to imagine a string of pearls with each pearl representing a significant emotional event in your life. Each time there is a significant emotional event in your life, another pearl is added onto that string.  Some pearls are bigger than others. The bigger pearls are larger more significant emotional events while some are smaller pearls are like the less significant events.

And then if you were to remove the very first pearl from the string the whole string would fall apart. 

Once this process is done it allows you to be able to react freely to any future situations – without the emotional baggage of the past.

In a nutshell, Time Line Therapy assists us:

​

  • To let go of Negative Emotions from the past

  • To let go of Limiting Decisions from the past

  • Create our future the way we want it.

 

Tad James, M.S., Ph.D. said:
