NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming) can work very well with quick results when working with a child that finds himself/herself in this type of negative cycle. I help uncovering the root cause for the behaviour and to give him or her positive tools in how to deal with the cause of the fear or anger.
Hypnotherapy for children and young people is considered both effective and safe. Children tend to respond very well to hypnotherapy as they are naturally quite imaginative and use their imagination a great deal more than adults do. Hypnotherapy can help address a number of issues commonly experienced in childhood, including exam stress, sleep problems, bed-wetting, confidence, low self-esteem and phobias.
As children grow older and life gets more complex they may get anxious and start feeling stressed. They may experience difficulty in school, in making friends or lack confidence.
Habits and ticks are as common in children as they can be with adults. Children may suffer from nervous ticks, bed-wetting and nail-biting.
Exam stress is something that is on the rise but the good news is that teaching children to be relaxed and confident in their exams can make a huge difference to their self-esteem and their exam results.
Children find that the sessions are very relaxing and fun. They learn about how the brain works and this knowledge enables them to deal with anxiety, anger and stress in a positive way and to find strategies on how to react differently.
Children are very open minded and it is much easier for them to use their imagination to focus on positive goals. Sessions are tailored to suit the individual child’s or young person’s age and needs.
I use NLP or a combination of NLP and Hypnotherapy.
The sessions with younger children will be shorter (around 30-45 minutes) which will be reflected in a reduced fee.
Drawing and Talking Therapy
I am a Certified Practitioner for conducting Drawing and Talking Therapy sessions .
This is 12 session Programme. Each session lasts 30 minutes and will be held every week at the same time to give it continuity.
This is a gentle non-intrusive method of working with traumatic experiences and memories. This approach has been found very useful as drawing will enable your child to express their worries and feelings when they cannot find the courage to bring themselves to talk about it straightaway.Over time with the help of these drawings and emphatic attention, support and the use of stories I will help your child reach the stage that they will find able to move on.

Working with Parents
Parents often are not aware that their own behaviour may impact the way their child expresses feelings like fear, anxiety and stress. A parents own trauma, major transitions, such as a divorce, or serious illness, affects in their parenting. The parent can, at times, be the root cause of a child’s challenging behaviour – which may be the only way the child knows how to express the confused feelings and stress. Working with a parent to cope in a more positive and healthy way will always filter down to the relationship with their child in an equally positive way.
